Webinars: Continuing Education for APS and PGO on Trauma-Informed Approaches and Employer of Choice Strategies

Georgia State University’s Gerontology Institute is partnering with the leadership of Adult Protective Services and the Public Guardianship office to bring their staff high quality continuing education to support job quality and retention.

This one-year project will offer a series of webinars to both staff and leadership about trauma-informed approaches and employer of choice strategies to support staff retention. The Gerontology Institute is also partnering to do a needs assessment with an online survey and supplementary interviews in order inform and tailor recommendations made by the GSU team.

This is where you can access the free webinars that are part of this project.

The webinars are divided into two categories:

  • Trauma-Informed Care: Supporting ourselves and others
  • Employer of Choice Strategies: Focus on retention

This education will equip staff with key competencies in the following areas:

  • trauma-informed approaches
  • supportive supervision
  • creating trauma-informed organizations
  • employee engagement
  • improving job quality
  • creating career advancement opportunities

The webinars are free to APS and PGO staff but you must register to participate. There will be a short learning check at the end of each webinar to check your understanding.
